Jang Jae-hoon, Vice Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, forecasted that the impact of new vehicle models will continue for several years.
During a press conference on June 30 at the opening ceremony of the Suwon High-Tech Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, Jang stated, "This year, we have a favorable new car cycle with models like the Grandeur and Avante, which gives us a competitive edge over rivals."
Hyundai recently launched the seventh-generation facelift of the Grandeur and unveiled the eighth-generation complete redesign of the Avante at the Busan Mobility Show. Additional new models, including the Tucson, are scheduled for release later this year.
Jang emphasized that the opening of the Suwon High-Tech Center marks the beginning of efforts to enhance service competitiveness.
He noted, "As vehicles become more electrified and smart, we need to focus on high-function technologies in maintenance. Our goal is to create a model that allows both domestic and global dealers to experience and expand these technologies together."
Regarding the introduction of humanoid robots, he mentioned, "We have reduced the time for logistics and parts transfer from the warehouse to the production line by more than three times."
Jang predicted that comprehensive vehicle lifecycle management will emerge as a key challenge. He stated, "It is important to consolidate data from the first car to certified used cars and then to second and third used cars, covering up to the sixth vehicle. We aim to differentiate ourselves in service quality and customer response."
