The company will lower prices for products including polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride by between 100,000 won and 250,000 won per ton.
Hanwha Solutions said the move is intended to share savings from government support for naphtha and other key petrochemical raw materials with small and midsize customers. The support was introduced after the Iran war disrupted shipments and drove up import costs for South Korean petrochemical producers.
The company expects the price cuts to reduce raw material costs for plastics processors and help extend the benefits of government support to downstream industries.
It also plans to strengthen cooperation across production, logistics and sales to maintain a stable supply of raw materials and minimize disruptions.
“We are grateful for the government’s timely support in response to soaring naphtha and feedstock prices,” said Nam Jung-woon, head of Hanwha Solutions’ chemical division. “We will share the cost burden with plastics manufacturers and work to maintain stable supplies and strengthen industrial competitiveness.”
Hanwha Solutions said it will continue cooperating with the government to respond to fluctuations in global raw material prices and support supply chain stability.
