Celltrion will participate in the world's largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology exhibition to expand global collaboration in new drug development and contract development and manufacturing (CDMO).

The company announced on September 29 that it will take part in the '2026 World Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Exhibition' (CPHI) in Milan, Italy, from October 6 to 8 (local time).

This year's CPHI, marking its 37th edition, is expected to attract around 60,000 industry professionals representing over 2,400 companies from more than 170 countries. Discussions will cover collaboration strategies across the industry, from production and supply chain development to CDMO and strategic partnerships.

At the event, Celltrion plans to strengthen global partnerships by showcasing its capabilities in new drug development and manufacturing. With significant research outcomes in key diseases such as cancer, obesity, metabolic disorders, and autoimmune diseases, the company aims to identify promising firms in these areas.

Celltrion will also explore ways to enhance its manufacturing and supply competitiveness in response to increased production demand due to the expansion of its main product lines. The company noted that establishing biopharmaceutical production facilities requires considerable time and investment, making stable production capacity crucial for market share and order competitiveness.

Leveraging its experience in developing and manufacturing antibody biopharmaceuticals, Celltrion is also pursuing tailored collaborations related to its CDMO business. The strategy aims to diversify its operations beyond a biosimilar-focused structure to include both CDMO and new drug development.

Since 2022, Celltrion has set up a standalone booth at CPHI for five consecutive years. This year, it will feature a large booth of approximately 46 pyeong to promote its global brand and research and development capabilities.

The booth will include dedicated meeting rooms and lounges for relay business meetings with potential global clients and partners, as well as on-site programs to showcase the company's value and technological competitiveness.

A Celltrion representative stated, "This CPHI will serve as an opportunity to showcase Celltrion's drug development and manufacturing competitiveness on the global stage and strengthen a stable global supply chain. We aim to respond to the rapidly growing CDMO demand and expand collaborations on next-generation drug pipelines to solidify our position as a global biopharmaceutical company."

In related news, Celltrion has resolved to retire 544,299 shares of its own stock, valued at approximately 100 billion won, on September 30 to enhance shareholder value. This move is part of the company's long-term principle to return one-third (about 33%) of its annual consolidated net profit through stock buybacks or cash dividends.

The share retirement is expected to be completed in October. With this resolution, the total amount of shares Celltrion plans to retire this year will increase to approximately 200 billion won over two rounds.
