Korea Kolmar announced that its antioxidant material technology 'TOT,' developed in collaboration with a research team from Jeonbuk National University, has been designated as a new technology (NET) by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. This designation recognizes outstanding technologies that are either newly developed in Korea or improvements on existing technologies.

TOT is a material that applies the principles of targeted cancer therapy from the pharmaceutical field to cosmetics. It is designed to release the antioxidant component vitamin E in response to hydrogen peroxide, a substance that causes skin aging. The technology selectively acts on aging-causing substances.

Korea Kolmar has completed the registration of TOT as a new anti-aging ingredient in the International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary (INCI). In April, related research was published as a cover paper in an SCI-level international journal. The company plans to accelerate the development of its anti-aging cosmetics line using its proprietary delivery technology, 'DDS Smart Liposome.'

A representative from Korea Kolmar stated, "This new technology designation is significant as it recognizes a convergence technology that bridges pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. We aim to enhance our global competitiveness by introducing differentiated targeted anti-aging cosmetics that address the fundamental causes of aging."

Meanwhile, Korea Kolmar plans to strengthen its production capabilities centered around its Sejong plant to meet the global demand for 'Made in Korea' products. Earlier this year, the company was selected as a reshoring enterprise after closing its factory in Beijing, China, and expanding its Sejong facility.
