Kim Hye-kyung visited a government-supported youth orchestra on June 29 to encourage its members.

According to Deputy Spokesperson Ahn Gwi-ryeong, Kim visited the 'Dream Orchestra' educational site in Guro Art Valley, Seoul, where she met with child and youth members, parents, and music directors.

As the wife of President Lee Jae-myung, Kim told the members, "If you have any difficulties or need help, please let me know. I will pass it on to Grandpa President."

She added, "Please don’t ask for something too big, like building a center. I will continue to listen to the voices from the field so that children can nurture their dreams and fully realize their potential through culture and the arts."

Having majored in piano at university, Kim encouraged the practicing members by sharing, "I still dream of being on stage and forgetting the first note." She even played the marimba, a percussion instrument, to lighten the mood.

After observing the members' performance, she exclaimed, "Bravo!" and stood to applaud, saying, "I was surprised. I almost cried."

Kim was also spontaneously invited to the regular concert scheduled for the second half of this year and promised to attend.

The Dream Orchestra is part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts and Culture Education Service's youth arts support program, 'Dream Arts Group,' which provides orchestral training to children and youth in the community.

Deputy Spokesperson Ahn noted, "The government plans to expand the Dream Arts Group project so that more children and youth can receive arts education. We aim to support 360 groups by 2030, following this year's support for 150 organizations."

Meanwhile, the 'Dream Festival,' featuring all national Dream Arts Groups, is set to take place from August 5 to 7. Kim had previously encouraged child and youth members through a video message during last year's joint performance at the Dream Festival held in August.
