The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is offering young people preparing for careers in international tourism organizations an opportunity to gain job knowledge and international skills.
The ministry announced that it will hold an "International Tourism Organization Employment Training" program on September 18 and 19 at the Korea Tourism Organization's Seoul Center.
The training is open to 50 domestic university and graduate students interested in employment with international tourism organizations. Applications will be accepted online from today until September 10, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The first day, September 18, will kick off with a "Global Tourism Empathy Talk" featuring broadcaster Fabian. This will be followed by practical job training sessions on writing English resumes and conducting English interviews. Participants will also explore the characteristics and agendas of major international tourism organizations and have opportunities to interact with current professionals in the field.
On the second day, September 19, participants will conduct a "Mock International Tourism Organization Meeting," where they will identify and present international tourism agendas.
In addition to Fabian, speakers will include Professor Kim Dae-kwan from Kyung Hee University and the chairperson of the Korea ESG Management Development Institute, as well as Kang Won-seok, CEO of CHC Employment Consulting. Professor Kim has experience with the UNWTO's online education committee and previously served as the head of the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute. The chairperson of the Korea ESG Management Development Institute has worked as a senior analyst at the OECD's statistics division and was the first Korean to receive guaranteed retirement at the OECD.
Consultants will include Tae Eun-ji, a UNWTO Asia-Pacific officer, and Cheon Eun-kyu, an officer from the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), who will provide strategies and advice for employment in international organizations.
Participants will receive a certificate of participation from the ministry. Completing the training will also grant them additional points when applying for the UNWTO internship in 2027.
To encourage participation from regional talent outside the metropolitan area, transportation costs and accommodation will be subsidized. Applications can be submitted by scanning the QR code on the training poster.
