Hana Financial Group is launching a support initiative for military personnel and their families in June, coinciding with the month of national defense and veterans. The group plans to provide annual welfare benefits worth 1 billion won (approximately $10 million), covering medical expenses and educational equipment.

On June 9, Hana Financial announced the implementation of the 'Hero with Hana' program in collaboration with the Defense Ministry. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burdens of families of deceased or injured service members and create a stable environment for military service.

Initially, Hana Financial will support 200 military personnel who care for children or parents with disabilities, covering costs for rehabilitation and psychological therapy, medical expenses, and the purchase of assistive devices such as wheelchairs.

Additionally, 60 service members who have been injured or are stationed in remote areas will receive funding for educational tools and digital devices. The program also plans to assist 40 service members who have sustained physical disabilities due to injuries while on duty with welfare support for rehabilitation and psychological therapy.

Chairman Ham Young-joo expressed his satisfaction, stating, "I am pleased to contribute to the morale and welfare of military personnel and their families who serve the nation. We will continue to act as partners for military personnel and their families through our commitment to social responsibility."

In addition to this program, Hana Financial has been involved in various support initiatives for military personnel. In 2013, the group established the 'Hana Hall' in Yeonpyeongdo for service members, their families, and local residents. Since 2017, it has been providing scholarships for military personnel and the children of deceased service members through the Marine Corps Deoksan Scholarship Foundation.
