Lotte Department Store is set to open a popup store for the K-eyewear brand Doubleverse, targeting both domestic and international customers.
The popup will operate from June 24 to July 7 on the first basement level of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil, according to an announcement made on June 21.
This initiative comes as interest in K-fashion expands into eyewear, including glasses and sunglasses. Lotte Department Store reported a 15% increase in sales of K-sunglasses and eyewear from January to May compared to the same period last year. Customers aged 20 to 30 accounted for 40% of total sales.
Doubleverse, a domestic eyewear brand launched in 2015, offers a wide range of products from classic designs to unique statement pieces, all priced reasonably around 100,000 won.
The popup store will feature over 330 products, with sunglasses making up 60% and regular eyewear 40% of the offerings. Customers who purchase two or more items during the popup will receive a 10% discount.
Exclusive products will also be available, including a heart collection of five styles worn by the popular idol group AlphaDrive One.
A representative from Lotte Department Store stated, "As the popularity of K-fashion grows, eyewear is rapidly emerging as a new fashion category. We expect this popup store will help showcase the appeal of K-eyewear to both domestic and global customers."
Additionally, market research firm IMARC Group reported that the domestic eyewear market was valued at approximately 4.7 trillion won last year, with an expected average annual growth rate of 4.91% from this year through 2034.
