The Korea Securities Depository (KSD) is launching a campaign to return unclaimed stocks and dividends to shareholders. From 2009 to last year, the KSD returned a total of 11.121 trillion won in unclaimed stocks and funds through its campaigns.

From October 12 to November 6, the KSD will conduct the "2026 Unclaimed Stock Recovery Campaign."

Unclaimed stocks refer to shares that have been allocated to shareholders who hold physical stock certificates but have not claimed them due to issues such as address changes or difficulties in visiting a stock transfer agency.

Since 2009, the KSD has conducted annual campaigns, returning 11.1084 trillion won in unclaimed stocks and 1.34 billion won in funds to shareholders by last year. In the previous year's campaign, a total of 433.8 billion won in unclaimed stocks and funds was recovered.

This year, the KSD has mailed campaign notices to individual shareholders whose residency information has been verified through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. The campaign is being conducted in collaboration with three companies: Meritz Financial Group, Amorepacific Holdings, and Amorepacific.

Shareholders can check for unclaimed stocks on the KSD's securities agency website. The "Find Stocks" menu allows for inquiries and applications, even if a notice was not received.

Individual shareholders can apply for mobile, non-face-to-face collection for stocks valued at 5 million won or less and funds of 1 million won or less. The application process requires mobile phone verification, ID photo submission, and account verification.

In-person applications can be made at the KSD's Seoul office or regional customer centers. Those applying in person should bring identification and a securities account in the shareholder's name. Shareholders holding physical stock certificates must bring those certificates, and inquiries about necessary documents for proxy applications or inheritance should be made in advance.

Even after the campaign period ends, unclaimed stocks can be collected at any time. For more details, shareholders can contact the KSD's contact center.
