Tesla applies for government certification to sell Model S 90D US company Tesla Motors has applied for government certification to sell the 90D version of its Model S electric sedan in South Korea before opening its first showroom. Tesla's request this week for certifications on emissions and noise is expected to be approved quickly by South Korea's environment ministry. Nissan ordered to recall 7,574 vehicles for air bag software defect Japan's Nissan Motor has been ordered to recall 7,574 vehicles sold in South Korea for a software defect in air bags in the latest of a series of recalls involving foreign cars this year, transport authorities said Monday. Tesla agrees to open electric car retail store in new shopping complex US company Tesla Motors has forged a strategic partnership with South Korean business group Shinsegae to open an electric car retail shop and charging stations at the retail giant's outlets. Samsung to invest $448 mln in China's BYD: Yonhap Samsung Electronics Co., the world's biggest maker of smartphones, will invest three billion yuan (448.2 million US dollars) in a Chinese electric carmaker, BYD Co., an investment-banking source said Friday. The investment is expected to forge a strategic partnership between Samsung, which also produces semiconductors and liquid-crystal displays for cars, and BYD, according to the source.
